KEPTV | Jakarta, September 23, 2025 – The Asia Pacific Regional Thematic Meeting on Employment Law Reform was held in Jakarta, attended by IndustriALL Global Union, the Indonesian Federation of IndustriALL Affiliated Trade Unions, and international organizations. R. Abdullah, Chairman of CEMWU, was invited as the keynote speaker.
In his remarks, R. Abdullah emphasized the importance of labor law reform that focuses on protecting workers’ rights and creating a safe and fair working environment. He emphasized that regulatory changes must reflect the needs of modern workers and support inclusive economic growth.
“Labour law reform is not just about regulations but also about how we ensure workers’ welfare. We must ensure that every policy we produce favours workers and creates quality jobs,” said R. Abdullah.
The meeting also served as a platform for participants to share experiences and best practices related to labour law reform in their respective countries. The dynamic discussion covered issues such as workers’ rights, social protection, and challenges faced in policy implementation.
It is hoped that the outcomes of this meeting will provide recommendations for the government and other stakeholders in formulating more effective policies that are responsive to the needs of workers in the Asia-Pacific region.
